NEWFOUNDLAND CIDER COMPANY

The Newfoundland Cider Company is the province’s first craft cidery, producing small-batch craft cider from 100% fresh pressed apple juice and other natural ingredients. BARE MOUNTAIN COFFEE HOUSE

Bare Mountain Coffee House is located in a heritage home that was restored and repurposed to create a unique and inviting place for individuals, friends, families, and community groups to meet and enjoy. LODGES LOFT 

Lodge’s Loft located in Catalina Newfoundland, centrally located between historic Trinity and scenic Bonavista. Fully equipped and boast a functional home design to suit all of your needs during your stay. Newly constructed in 2019, Lodge’s Loft features a modern design with an open concept living & dining room complimented by an executive style kitchen with a gas cooktop for the chef at heart! LODGES LANDING

Lodge’s Landing centrally located between historic Trinity and scenic Bonavista. Fully equipped and boast a functional home design to suit all of your needs during your stay. Built in 1936 and newly renovated in 2021, Lodge’s Landing features an open concept kitchen and dining room with retro styled appliances and gas range. GOLF COURSES

There are two major golf resorts within 30 minutes drive from The Milton Inn. Brookside Golf Course is a family operated nine-hole golf course located in Hachet Cove and Terra Nova Golf Resort located in Port Blandford operates both the award-winning 18-hole Twin Rivers Golf Course as well as the 9-hole Eagle River Golf course.

CLARENVILLE FARM & MARKET

The Clarenville Farm & Market is a non-profit seasonal farmers market, featuring local produce, prepared food, handcrafted items and entertainment. Open every 9am to 3pm every Saturday seasonally from June-December. It is located next door to the Clarenville Inn on the TCH. For more information, visit their facebook page here

WHITE HILLS RESORT

White Hills Resort is a community owned and operated ski resort located in just outside of Clarenville. The Resort offers winter fun for everyone with downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling access to the backcountry, ski lessons & rentals. Surrounding White Hills are over 40 kms of arguably the best nordic trails in the province. These trails a beautifully groomed for beginners through to experts. BOAT TOURS

There are a variety of boat tours to choose from in the area. From whale and bird watching, getting a closer look at magnificent icebergs, or exploring resettled communities – there is a tour for you!.

DISCOVERY UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARK

Discovery Global Geopark invites you to discover a little more about your geological past. Located on the upper half of the Bonavista Peninsula on the eastern coast of the island of Newfoundland, Discovery has a variety of sites where you can tour and learn about the Earth. HIKING TRAILS

Eastern Newfoundland have some of the best hiking trails in the province with incredible scenery. Four of the closest and best trails are listed below.

    • Sherwink Trail, Port Rexton 
      The hiking jewel of the region, is internationally recognized and was ranked amongst the top 35 trails in North America and Europe by Travel & Leisure magazine (2003). The 5.3km coastal loop begins in Port Rexton/Trinity East and provides an opportunity to view and photograph seabirds, eagles, sea stacks, icebergs and whales (in season) as well as the surrounding communities.

 

  • Fox Island Trail, Champney’s West
    A 5.5 km hike. It is rated as being easy-moderate in difficulty. The trail displays the beautiful coastal scenery, views of the surrounding communities and local wildlife, then to finish with walking through the fishing village of Champney’s West. Take the time to walk down and view the fishing stages and maybe get your opportunity to chat to a local resident.

 

  • Chance Cove Coastal Trail
    Chance Cove Coastal Trail is a 3.7 kilometer loop trail located near Chance Cove that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and bird watching.

 

  • Bordeaux Trail, Arnold’s Cove
    During your hike along our famous Bordeaux Trail you can catch a glimpse of the magnificent coastal scenery and historical landmarks. You may also view one of the numerous oil tankers that travel to and from the nearby transshipment terminal and oil refinery. 4.5 km (12 km return including loops).

 

  • Centre Hill Wilderness Trail, Sunnyside
    Centre Hill is an old volcano and the highest point in eastern Newfoundland (384 metres). At the top, you will enjoy a spectacular, panoramic view. The trail crosses a river, then winds through forest, barrens and a bakeapple marsh before a steep 400 metre climb to the top. The trail is 5km each way (10km total). Plan for half a day. The trail was upgraded in 2015.
